Application Engineer

Position: Application Engineer (f/m/d)
Location: Turate

Responsibilities

Take technical ownership of the overall Exhaust Aftertreatment System (including steel components, catalysts, particulate filters, process equipment and control algorithms)
Act as the primary technical contact for internal teams (e.g. Sales and Project Management) and external customers
Coordinate project-specific engineering activities with internal and external stakeholders
Define the technical scope and manage the associated project objectives and budget
Create project-specific technical documents such as Piping and Instrumentation Diagram, electrical schematics and network diagrams
Support risk and safety analysis (e.g. DFMEA, HAZOP)
Contribute to product development and product standardization efforts
Ensure compliance with applicable regulations

Qualifications

Successfully completed engineering degree in process or mechanical engineering or comparable
3-5 years of professional experience in plant design or technical system development
Knowledge of exhaust gas aftertreatment and combustion engines is an advantage
High level of autonomy and reliability
Strong analytical thinking, teamwork and communication skills
A hands‑on mentality combined with a structured and methodical approach to work
Good verbal and written communication skills in Italian and English
Willingness to travel to customers and the headquarters in Elsau, Switzerland, approximately once per month
