Position: Façade Engineer (Permanent)
Overview

A leading organisation within the construction and safety engineering sector is seeking an experienced Facade Engineer to support complex projects across the UK. This opportunity is ideal for a highly capable Facade Engineer who can deliver robust façade design solutions while ensuring high standards of safety, compliance, and performance.

The role is London-based, operating remote with occasional site visits across the UK as required.

You MUST have full and unrestricted Right to Work in the UK. Candidates without clear Right to Work in the UK cannot be considered.

Key Responsibilities

In this Facade Engineer position, you will:

Develop and deliver detailed facade engineering design concepts, specifications, and technical documentation.

Provide expert guidance on facade systems, fire safety, compliance, and overall building envelope performance.

Carry out inspections, assessments, and reporting on existing façade structures.

Work collaboratively with architects, contractors, designers, and safety specialists to create fully compliant facade solutions.

Support project stages from early feasibility through design, installation, testing, and completion.

Contribute technical expertise to ensure projects meet regulatory requirements and best-practice standards.

Promote continuous improvement and innovation across all facade engineering processes.

Essential Experience & Skills

Proven track record as a Facade Engineer within construction, façade consultancy, engineering design, or related disciplines.

Strong knowledge of facade materials, cladding systems, fire performance, building regulations, and BS/EN standards.

Experience in thermal modelling, structural behaviour of façades, and façade system integration.

Familiarity with façade design and analysis tools (THERM, AutoCAD, Revit, Rhino, or similar).

Excellent communication and technical writing skills.

Strong understanding of compliance, safety principles, and risk management within façade design.

Full Right to Work in the UK is mandatory — this role cannot offer sponsorship.

Preferred Qualities

Working toward or already holding chartership status (e.g., CEng, MICE, MIStruct

E, MCIBSE).

Experience working on large-scale commercial, residential, or public-sector façade projects.

Awareness of sustainable façade technologies and modern construction methods.
