Principal Mechanical Engineer – Bristol

Location: Stoke Gifford, Bristol (Hybrid – 3 days in office, 2 days from home)

As a Principal Mechanical Engineer, you will maintain the engineering configuration, ensuring design intent and integrity throughout the design lifecycle. This full‑time role is based in Stoke Gifford, Bristol and offers a hybrid working arrangement with three days in the office and two days working from home.

• Maintain engineering configuration, ensuring design intent and integrity throughout the lifecycle.
• Promote effective cooperation across Engineering and other functional teams.
• Assist in effective management of the customer, including liaison and relationship development with existing and new customers to aid business development and resolve technical and delivery issues.
• Ensure procedures, codes and standards are correctly identified and applied to engineering and technical activities.
• Communicate and manage task and project risks appropriately.
• Produce, review and approve calculations, analyses, drawings, models, design basis documentation and technical reports as assigned.

• Ownership and delivery mindset, champion high performance, and courage to challenge the status quo.
• Knowledge of CAD tools and general engineering drawing practice.
• Ability to build strong and influential relationships with key stakeholders.
• Experience leading a team.
• Nuclear experience is not required – applications from all engineering backgrounds are welcome.

• Minimum HNC/HND in Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Holding or ability to obtain Chartered status.
• Security clearance: must achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance for this role.
