Job Description

Join a leading EPC firm as a Process Engineer, contributing to a variety of projects primarily in the oil and gas sector with additional involvement in water treatment, natural gas, and mining. This role focuses on supporting brownfield projects, conducting hydraulic calculations, and creating P&IDs and PFDs. While this position is not primarily client-facing, there will be opportunities for client interaction for strong candidates.

Responsibilities

Execute process tasks while being accountable for budget and schedule.

Collaborate with Project Managers on proposals or change notices by estimating budgets for process-related deliverables.

Work with clients and project teams to scope out projects, establish project objectives, and resolve design issues.

Develop Process Design Basis (PDB).

Perform computer simulations using HYSYS, Pipe Flo, or other simulation software for pipe/pipeline and equipment sizing.

Create Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs) and collaborate with Mechanical/Instrumentation teams to develop Processing and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs).

Populate Process Information for equipment datasheets and develop PSV files.

Interface with other disciplines, clients, and vendors.

Facilitate and/or participate in process hazards analysis studies/sessions.

Lead process-related deliverables for a project, including attending internal and external project meetings as required.

Conduct activities in line with internal procedures, legislation, and industry standards.

Pursue continuous professional development and maintain a high degree of discipline knowledge and awareness.

Work safely at all times and report all health and safety incidents and concerns.

Essential Skills

Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering.

Registered with EGBC.

5-15 years of design experience in heavy industrial projects such as upstream, crude refining, LACT, gas processing, and oil sands.

Experience in brownfield projects.

Proficiency with Aspen HYSYS, hydraulic calculations, and creating P& PFDs.

Good understanding of applicable industry codes and standard practices, with Canadian experience preferred.

Proficiency with Microsoft Office software applications.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Eligibility for with EGBC.

Operating company experience.

Experience with Symmetry or Pipe-flo software.

Consideration for a strong EIT who has applied for their .

Experience in mining projects.

Work Environment

This role is based in the Vancouver downtown office, with a flexible work arrangement allowing work-from-home on Mondays and Fridays. The office environment is collaborative and values the contributions of all employees. The Process Engineering Team consists of O&G and Mining Process teams that operate independently but as part of a larger department. The Vancouver office houses over 100 employees, including project teams, within a team-oriented atmosphere that encourages team-building activities.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Vancouver, BC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $90.00 - $98.00/hr.
