We are proud to be working with an innovative and fast-growing digital-first structural consultancy, offering an opportunity for a Structural Engineer to join their forward-thinking, tech-led team in their Runcorn office. With four offices across the UK, this firm delivers a range of services including structural inspections, defect diagnosis, building pathology, insurance claim reporting, and remedial specification. Working predominantly in the residential sector with additional exposure to commercial and historic buildings, their projects span structural defect reports, subsidence investigations, insurance claim assessments, and more.

The company embraces cutting-edge technology—particularly digital surveying and live on-site reporting tools—to drive efficiency and precision in every project. They are seeking an experienced Structural Engineer who thrives in a modern, agile working environment and is excited about the future of surveying technology.

Responsibilities
  • Inspect residential and commercial properties to diagnose structural defects and prepare live digital reports on-site
  • Specify remedial works and oversee reporting for building insurance claims (including subsidence, fire, and storm damage)
  • Liaise with insurers, contractors, and clients to ensure high-quality, timely service delivery
  • Engage with internal systems and contribute to business improvements through new ideas and innovation
  • Work across traditional and non-traditional construction types, including historic buildings
  • Report directly to the Associate Director and provide regular progress updates
Requirements
  • Several years' experience in building defect diagnosis and structural inspection (essential)
  • MIStruct

    E or MICE preferred (not essential)
  • Experience with historic buildings and insurance claim reporting would be advantageous
  • Confident in working independently and managing own workload
  • Excellent communication and IT skills
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
  • Based in the Northwest with willingness to travel for inspections
