Balfour Beatty is proud to be part of the pioneering Net Zero Teesside development, one of the UK’s most ambitious low‑carbon infrastructure programmes. As we support the delivery of this nationally significant project, we are looking for an experienced Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team in Redcar.

You will play a central role in the commercial management of works associated with the Net Zero Teesside project, ensuring the effective administration of contracts, cost control, and commercial strategy. This is a rare opportunity to contribute to a transformative project designed to lead the UK’s transition to a cleaner, more sustainable energy future.

• Lead the commercial and contractual management of allocated work packages
• Prepare, manage and negotiate subcontract agreements, variations, and procurement activities
• Maintain accurate cost forecasting, budgeting, and financial reporting
• Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities
• Support project leaders with strategic commercial insight and advice
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, partners and supply chain
• Mentor and support junior commercial team members

• Proven experience as a Quantity Surveyor or Senior Quantity Surveyor, ideally within major infrastructure, energy, industrial or civil engineering projects
• Strong understanding of NEC forms of contract (NEC3/NEC4)
• Excellent commercial awareness, analytical capability, and negotiation skills
• A collaborative approach with an ability to bring teams together
• Degree or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline
• Professional membership (RICS, CICES) – desirable but not essential
