It’s an exciting time to be working for our UK Water business with unprecedented investment. Continued growth in our Water business workload means we seek Urban Drainage Modellers across our UK offices to support client requirements. All listed UK offices are possible home office locations.

• Development of computer models to investigate water network issues and investment needs and generation of outline solutions.
• Analysis of data.
• Supporting the development of engineering solutions and advising clients to help them make better asset investment decisions.
• Support development of reports and other project deliverables.
• Prepare (and adhere to) health and safety risk assessments.
• Support in the development of tender responses and fee estimates at higher grades.
• Supervising and developing staff and providing guidance to support their professional development at higher grades.
• Contributing towards technical innovation.

Experience or awareness of urban drainage modelling within Info Works ICM (or CS), GIS packages such as ARC or Map Info and civil engineering would be advantageous but not essential. Full on the job training will be provided where required. The role involves working on feasibility studies, using computer analysis to support flooding and environmental improvement projects, site visits and liaison with clients, contractors, stakeholders and other professional bodies.

The output is typically short reports outlining the approach taken and findings from the investigation.

• Understanding of UK Water Industry and regulatory issues.
• Experience in Wastewater modelling and distribution networks.
• Building and calibrating network models.
• Using network models for planning, operational and solution development purposes.
• Experience with Info Works ICM (or CS) and other modelling software.

• Expertise using Info Works ICM and ICM Exchange.
• Proven track record in coordinating and delivering technically excellent projects.
• Ability to check the work of others to provide quality assurance and drive continuous improvement in work delivered to the client.
• Implementation of industry leading solutions and development of innovative solutions.
• Management and technical supervision of a team of wastewater modellers.
• Supervision of report writing and check and review of outputs.

• BSc/BEng/MEng degree level: geography, GIS, Science, engineering related subject or equivalent considered with appropriate professional qualifications at the senior levels.
• Technician roles require HNC, HND level qualification in similar subjects. Opportunities to work towards qualifications will be available for the successful candidates.
