An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Systems Engineer within Thales OME. The role can be based in Reading or Glasgow and may require some travel to other Thales sites, customer sites or integration and test facilities.
Responsibilities- Definition of systems requirements for the product.
- Creation of design documentation capturing the systems engineering design, internal and external interfaces of the system.
- Functional definition of system behaviour.
- Development of test procedures to support verification of the system.
- Carrying out integration and verification testing against test procedures and gathering evidence that systems requirements have been achieved.
- Peer reviewing technical artefacts.
- Supporting the wider engineering team by sharing knowledge.
- Experience working as part of a multi‑disciplinary design team.
- Defining system interfaces, boundaries and other external factors that impact design.
- Requirements Engineering (elicitation, decomposition and analysis).
- Analysing the operational concepts of a system.
- Experience of decomposition of a systems design to sub‑system level; knowledge of systems modelling techniques.
- Experience analysing potential solutions against the key needs in a design brief.
- Experience using design analysis techniques such as trade‑off analysis, calculations, modelling and simulation.
The role requires SC clearance. It would be advantageous if already held; otherwise the successful applicant must undergo, achieve and maintain SC clearance. To be eligible for full SC, you generally need to have resided in the UK for the last 5 years, or 3 years residence over the last 5 years in some circumstances, with additional overseas checks.
