Senior Structural Technician – Building Structures

About the roleWe are recruiting a Senior Structural Revit Technician to join a supportive team, develop and lead the production of Revit models and CAD drawings for all stages of design. You will produce and supervise coordinated 3D BIM models using Revit, collaborate closely with key stakeholders and colleagues, use BIM technologies both in cloud and managed systems, and manage drafting aspects of projects to deliver multidisciplinary outcomes.
Responsibilities- Produce and supervise coordinated 3D BIM models using Revit; prepare engineering models and drawings from sketches and design information.
- Work closely with key external stakeholders, clients, and colleagues from all parts of WSP to achieve multidisciplinary delivery outcomes.
- Use BIM technologies in cloud and managed systems to prepare concise engineering drawings for key stages such as conception, planning, tender, building warrant, and construction.
- Fulfil Project Technician role – manage the drafting aspects of projects of varying complexity and size, actively driving collaboration.
- Gained a HNC/HND (or equivalent) in Civil or Structural Engineering.
- Experience in building structures as a technician.
- Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and Microsoft Office.
- Experience in the principles of ISO 19650, BIM templates, BEPs, and use of collaborative information management software.
- Experience in working with digital platforms, particularly BIM
360 and its collaborative modules (Not essential, training will be provided). - Gained strong, practical experience of using Revit in a similar building structures focused role.
- Proficiency at planning and organising workload.
- Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
- Excellent presentation skills.
- Familiarity with working under pressure and to tight deadlines.
- Experience of working on a range of projects across a variety of sectors.
- Must be eligible to achieve Security Clearance.
