Your OpportunityOur Western Canadian Power Delivery group seeks a Civil Distribution EIT to join a dynamic, vibrant, and collaborative team. In this role, you will provide cost estimates and designs for a diverse range of underground electrical distribution projects, communicating directly with clients to establish service requirements and deliver design solutions that meet client needs. You will coordinate with landowners, customers, and other client departments to ensure projects are effectively coordinated and executed.
YourKey Responsibilities
- Design distribution infrastructure to meet project requirements.
- Develop design solutions that meet all applicable codes, standards, and regulations.
- Develop project cost estimates and material lists.
- Manage external client relationships through effective and timely communication.
- Monitor project progress and take action to meet client requirements.
- Travel and perform site visits as required.
- Identify potential safety or environmental concerns and initiate appropriate action.
- Coordinate designs with various 3rd party stakeholders.
- Facilitate approval requests with various 3rd party stakeholders.
- Provide technical guidance to customers, stakeholders, and external consultants.
- Eligible or registered as an EIT in Canada.
- Effective interpersonal skills – Strong written and verbal skills are essential to ensure clear communication between team members, clients, contractors, and suppliers.
- Able to work collaboratively as a member of the team.
- Strong time‑management and prioritization skills.
- Demonstrated project‑management skills with the ability to set priorities, organize work, and complete work within given timelines.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD, Bluebeam, and Civil 3D would be an asset.
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering.
- Minimum of 3 years of experience designing power utility infrastructure within North America.
- Previous BC Hydro experience considered an asset.

Typical office environment: working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements, including inclement weather.

Pay Range- Locations Outside of Lower Mainland – BC: $63,300 – $88,600 annually
- Locations in Lower Mainland – BC: $67,100 – $93,900 annually
Pay Transparency: In compliance with pay transparency laws, pay ranges are provided for positions in locations where required. The final agreed compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience and work location. Certain roles are bonus eligible. Actual compensation for part‑time roles will be pro‑rated according to the agreed number of working hours per week.
