We are on the lookout for a Civil Engineer‑In‑Training to join Dillon’s Linear Municipal Infrastructure team in Fredericton. You will work on exciting municipal infrastructure projects providing clients with a fully integrated client experience.
Responsibilities- Assist project managers and engineers in the functional and detailed design of municipal infrastructure, including water supply, sewers, roads, land development, storm water management, and waste management.
- Work with multidisciplinary teams—including planners, biologists, technologists, environmental scientists, and others—to deliver successful projects.
- Maintain project schedules and complete design activities on time.
- Collaborate with team members on coordination and design activities.
- Contribute to business development activities, including client need research, preparation of project proposals, and presentations.
- Participate in Dillon’s corporate profile through professional associations and committees.
- Commit to ongoing learning and professional development.
- Degree in civil engineering.
- Registered as an engineer‑in‑training, or eligible within six months.
- 0–2 years of experience, preferably in the consulting industry.
- Knowledge of the functional and detailed design of municipal infrastructure.
- Understanding of design drawing and report preparation, tendering, and contract administration.
- Proficiency with AutoCAD; familiarity with Civil 3D / Land Desktop is an asset.
- Knowledge of municipal/provincial engineering standards and regulatory requirements.
- Strong verbal and written communication, organization and interpersonal skills.
- Familiarity with local regulations and permit requirements for environmental agencies.
- Experience with construction inspection and contract administration is an asset.
