Position: Year in Industry Technical Safety and Asset Risk Engineering

Start date in summer 2026 full time fixed term for 12 months. Hybrid model meaning 3 days per week onsite in Swindon rest can be working from home

About the role
  • Gain valuable knowledge and experience at our operational sites by visiting those and learning from a wide range of operational colleagues
  • How to keep our offshore wind farms operating safely at maximum efficiency powering hundreds of thousands of homes and businesses across the UK
  • Balancing risk and performance across all of our assets plus dealing with major technical threats
  • The technical construction of wind farms
  • Our core processes including management of our organisation-wide incident reporting tool, developing safe systems of work as well as understanding HSE management and reporting
  • Assist the team with asset risk reviews at a number of our operational sites
  • Asset and plant safety incident investigations undertaking root cause analysis
  • Conducting a detailed investigation and risk assessment for a technical risk that has fleet‑wide impact
  • Preparing monthly reporting and contributing to the development of new performance indicators and systems
Job requirements and experience
  • You are an enrolled student in one of the following degree courses:
    Electrical, Mechanical or Civil Engineering
  • Your degree course is eligible for a year in industry placement
  • You have very good verbal and written communication skills
  • You are able to coordinate your own workload and to meet tight deadlines
  • Working in a diverse team environment and dealing with a range of stakeholders every day is something you feel comfortable with
  • You are open to travel to other sites if needed. Travel expenses will be covered by us

Advantageous but not essential
  • Offshore Wind modules are part of your studies
  • You have knowledge of risk management or reliability engineering
