We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer to join our Electronic Controllers team at Honeywell Aerospace Technologies in Yeovil.

The Yeovil site is a thriving design development and manufacturing facility specialising in Environmental Control Systems and Life Support Systems. As part of the town’s rich aviation heritage the site boasts world class development and qualification testing facilities and has produced numerous innovations in these product areas.

Within the Yeovil Engineering department the Electronic Controllers team is a multidisciplinary group that provides the core functionality of these systems integrating specialised hardware and software to meet the stringent requirements associated with these high integrity systems.

This is a hybrid role featuring a 3 days in-office / 2 days remote work model with occasional travel to customer sites in the UK and Europe.

Honeywell Aerospace products and services are used on virtually every commercial defence and aircraft engines cockpit and cabin electronics wireless connectivity systems mechanical components. Our hardware and software solutions help create more fuel‑efficient aircraft more direct and on‑time flights and safer skies.

• Plan and manage software development and verification activities in compliance with RTCA DO 178B /
  
  C.
• Review system and software requirements and ensure clear traceability across all project work-products.
• Design implement and integrate software architecture ensuring comprehensive verification and adequate test coverage.
• Generate and approve the Plan for Software Aspects of Certification addressing certification‑related issues and creating the Software Accomplishment Summary.
• Identify training tool and resource needs for projects while reviewing and approving deliverables from project team members.
• Participate in process and tool standardisation initiatives to drive continuous improvement and operational efficiency.

• Degree (BSc) or equivalent in software development maths or electronics preferred.
• Significant experience of developing and verifying software for embedded aerospace applications over all life‑cycle phases (requirements capture specification design implementation support).
• A thorough understanding of the C programming language and DO178C is essential.
• The ability to read circuit diagrams or schematics and to use electronics development and test tools (oscilloscopes logic analyzers debuggers etc.) would be beneficial.
• Experience of using the following software tools would be beneficial : DOORS Change Man Dimensions Clear Case / Clear Quest System Architect and / or Rhapsody Vector
  
  CAST QA C and / or LDRA Test Bed
