Responsibilities

What your day will look like

Coordination and Design

Assist project managers and engineers in the functional and detailed design of municipal infrastructure related to water supply, sewers, roads, land development site servicing, storm water management and waste management

Assist project managers, engineers, environmental scientists and others on a variety of multidisciplinary design teams (including project engineers, planners, biologists, technologists,

Complete design activities to maintain project schedules and ensure successful project completion

Collaborate with multidisciplinary team members

Business Development

Contribute to business development activities including client need research, preparation of project proposals and presentations

Business travel to other Dillon offices

Learning and Development

Commit to self-development and ongoing learning and professional development

Contribute to Dillon’s corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees

Qualifications

What you will need to succeed

A degree in civil engineering

Registered as an engineer-in-training, or be eligible within six months

0 – 2 years' experience, preferably in the consulting industry

Experience

Knowledge of the functional and detailed design of integrated municipal infrastructure including roads, sewers and watermains

Understand a range of project design and implementation activities including development of design drawings and reports, contract document preparation, tendering, and contract administration

Working knowledge of current AutoCAD software; working knowledge of Civil 3D/Land Desktop software will be considered an asset

Knowledge of relevant municipal/provincial engineering standards and regulatory requirements

Strong verbal and written communication, organization and interpersonal skills

Familiarity with local regulations, policies, guidelines, and provincial and municipal permit requirements for environmental agencies

Proven skills in detail design of municipal infrastructure

Familiarity with both construction inspection and contract administration would be considered an asset

Exceptional communication (verbal and written) skills are essential
