Development Engineer

An innovative and fast‑growing medical device manufacturer is looking to strengthen its Engineering team with an experienced Development Engineer
. The company develops high‑performance implants and surgical instruments used in complex spinal procedures, supporting patients worldwide.

As a Development Engineer, you will be involved across the full product development lifecycle
, contributing to the design and development of spinal implants and surgical instruments in a regulated medical device environment.

• Design and development of surgical instruments and implants from concept through to clinical use
• Creation of CAD models and prototypes
  , including tolerance and risk analyses
• Application of creative problem‑solving and rapid prototyping techniques
• Planning, execution, and documentation of design verification and validation activities
• Preparation and maintenance of development and regulatory documentation (e.g. risk analyses, test reports, specifications, DHF)
• Close collaboration with cross‑functional teams including quality, regulatory, manufacturing, and clinical stakeholders

• Degree in Medical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering (BSc or MSc)
• 5+ years’ experience in development of orthopaedic and/or spinal instruments and implants
• Strong hands‑on experience with CAD systems (preferably Siemens NX)
• Solid understanding of medical device regulations (CE, FDA, MDR) and technical documentation
• Proactive, innovative, and hands‑on mindset with a strong focus on usability and clinical needs
• Very good English and/or German skills
• Comfortable working primarily on‑site as part of a close‑knit engineering team
