An innovative and fast‑growing medical device manufacturer is looking to strengthen its Engineering team with an experienced Development Engineer
. The company develops high‑performance implants and surgical instruments used in complex spinal procedures, supporting patients worldwide.
This is an opportunity to join a technically strong, collaborative environment where engineers work closely with clinical stakeholders and see their designs progress from concept to clinical application.
As a Development Engineer, you will be involved across the full product development lifecycle
, contributing to the design and development of spinal implants and surgical instruments in a regulated medical device environment.
- Design and development of surgical instruments and implants from concept through to clinical use
- Creation of CAD models and prototypes
, including tolerance and risk analyses - Application of creative problem‑solving and rapid prototyping techniques
- Planning, execution, and documentation of design verification and validation activities
- Preparation and maintenance of development and regulatory documentation (e.g. risk analyses, test reports, specifications, DHF)
- Close collaboration with cross‑functional teams including quality, regulatory, manufacturing, and clinical stakeholders
- Degree in Medical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering (BSc or MSc)
- 5+ years’ experience in development of orthopaedic and/or spinal instruments and implants
- Strong hands‑on experience with CAD systems (preferably Siemens NX)
- Solid understanding of medical device regulations (CE, FDA, MDR) and technical documentation
- Proactive, innovative, and hands‑on mindset with a strong focus on usability and clinical needs
- Very good English and/or German skills
- Comfortable working primarily on‑site as part of a close‑knit engineering team
- A key role within a specialist Med Tech engineering team
- Exposure to clinically relevant, high‑impact products
