YourMission
As Assistant Resident Engineer – Electrical (Substation) in our Transmission & Distribution department, you will support the Resident Engineer in supervising the execution of substation electrical works. Your role includes ensuring compliance with contract documents, drawings, method statements, and safety requirements; conducting site inspections and contractor coordination; and supporting testing, certification, and project handover.
Key Responsibilities- Assist the Resident Engineer in day‑to‑day supervision of electrical works for substations.
- Conduct regular site visits and inspections to monitor the contractor’s work progress.
- Liaise with all technical disciplines and attend Site Technical Coordination Meetings.
- Review contractor submissions, shop drawings, and construction‑related documentation.
- Ensure compliance with approved method statements, layouts, and drawings.
- Witness site activities, inspections, and testing as per project requirements.
- Support the Resident Engineer during final inspections, completion certification, and handover of works.
- Ensure proper implementation of site safety measures.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (approved by UAE regulatory authorities).
- Minimum 8 years’ experience in electrical engineering projects in the UAE, including substations.
- Strong technical knowledge of high‑voltage substation construction and supervision.
- Skilled in site supervision, contractor coordination, and review of technical submissions.
- Familiar with UAE utility and authority standards.
- Strong communication and coordination abilities.
- Detail‑oriented, proactive, and safety‑conscious mindset.
- Ability to work effectively in multicultural environments.
Prior experience with TRANSCO, ADDC, DEWA or other major UAE utilities will be highly preferred.
