We are seeking an experienced Assistant Resident Engineer – Electrical (Substation) to support site supervision and execution of high‑voltage substation electrical works across multiple project locations in the UAE.
This role is ideal for a hands‑on engineer with strong site leadership skills, deep technical knowledge of HV substations, and experience working with UAE utilities and authority standards.
Your Mission
As Assistant Resident Engineer – Electrical (Substation), you will support the Resident Engineer in supervising electrical works on site, ensuring compliance with contract documents, approved drawings, method statements, and HSE requirements. You’ll play a key role in site inspections, contractor coordination, testing, and successful project handover.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the Resident Engineer in day‑to‑day supervision of substation electrical works
- Conduct frequent site inspections and monitor contractor progress and quality
- Attend and contribute to Site Technical Coordination Meetings
- Review contractor submissions, shop drawings, and construction documentation
- Ensure works comply with approved method statements, layouts, and design drawings
- Witness inspections, testing, commissioning activities, and site works as required
- Assist with final inspections, completion certification, and project handover
- Ensure strict adherence to safety procedures and site HSE standards
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (approved by UAE authorities)
Experience
- Minimum 8 years of experience in UAE electrical engineering projects
Skills & Profile
- Strong technical expertise in high‑voltage substation construction and supervision
- Confident liaising with contractors, consultants, and stakeholders
- Familiar with UAE utility and authority requirements and standards
- Strong communication, coordination, and reporting skills
- Detail‑oriented, proactive, and safety‑driven mindset
- Able to work effectively in multicultural environments
Highly Preferred:
Experience with
TRANSCO, ADDC, DEWA or other major UAE utilities
