As Hook-up Engineer - Telecom
, you will respond/report to the Hook-up Manager and be part of COMP3 project within the Hook-up Department.
- Home office preparation for offshore campaign (job cards, job list, hook up procedures, offshore Telecom execution Method statements, Material trackers, etc.)
- Visit Offshore for Supervision and technical support during offshore Telecom Hook-up, pre-commissioning, and testing activities.
- Coordinate & Supervise:
Manage all engineering activities related to Hook-up (H-U). - Provide Expertise:
Offer H-U technical input during the bid phase, preparatory phases (home office/yard), and offshore execution. - Interface Management:
Define scope and manage carry‑over work with Fabrication (internal/external) and T&I (Transportation & Installation). - Technical Preparation:
Execute tasks like preparing drawings, MTOs (Material Take‑Offs), job cards, constructability reviews, and studies. - Procedure Development:
Participate in preparing multi‑disciplinary H-U procedures. - Marine Spread Management:
Prepare specifications, follow up on bids, and ensure safe, cost‑effective scheduling. - Vessel Suitability:
Conduct dedicated surveys to ensure vessels are suitable for safe/efficient H-U support, guaranteeing steady supply and manpower.
- Optimization:
Propose engineering solutions to optimize T&I configurations, minimise offshore H-U, and improve site construction sequences. - Review Inputs:
Provide H-U inputs for engineering reviews (Constructability, 3D model, HAZID, etc.). - Execution & Documentation:
Participate in H-U engineering execution, including identifying activities, preparing procedures, and assembling multi‑disciplinary Work Packages. - Job Card Setup:
Liaise with Hook-up Planning to set up Job Cards based on scope and defined construction/installation/commissioning plans. - Deliverables Management:
Elaborate the H-U project deliverables list and ensure timely development and issuance of documents and procedures. - Subcontract Definition:
Define scopes and perform Technical Bid Evaluations for H-U subcontracts. - Interface Assurance:
Ensure correct interfaces with other project functions during H-U engineering. - As-Built Preparation:
Collect red mark‑up engineering documents at the site for final As-Built drawings. - Support & Follow-up:
Support the Hook-up Manager by following up on engineering activities (HO, Yard, Site), including necessary Job Card updates. - Special Requirements:
Supervise the analysis and implementation of special H‑U requirements related to Welding, Painting, Coating, and Quality Control ahead of the offshore campaign.
- Any Engineering Bachelor’s Degree
- 10+ years of experience as Hook up Engineer – Telecom in Offshore / EPC
- Proficient in English
- PAGA (Public Address General Alarm), CCTV, Access Control, PABX/Telephone System, Radio/Antenna Systems, Navigational Aids, UHF/VHF, Network (LAN/WAN).
- CCNA / Telecom Specialist (preferably)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)
- Permanent Contract – Project-based position
