Join our team as an Engineering Technical Specialist supporting the delivery of nationally significant Strategic Resource Options (SROs) – major water supply, transfer, treatment, and storage projects ranging from £150m to £1.5bn. You'll work alongside Engineering Technical Leads, Consultants, and Regulatory partners to develop innovative, cost‑effective, and sustainable solutions that shape water resilience, including engineering, operational, and costing strategies for both long‑term and emergency projects.

You will be expected to work in the Midlands (England). The role is 37 hours a week. Flexible working from home is available, though travel to other sites will be required at times. A full UK driving licence is essential.
Some Of The Other Key Accountabilities- Support the delivery of engineering packages for RAPID‑gated projects and other strategic resilience schemes.
- Contribute to the development of optioneering, feasibility, and outline design across civil, mechanical, process, and environmental disciplines.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders (including leading Consultants) to deliver high‑quality, technically robust and cost‑effective solutions.
- Help develop junior members of the wider team, fostering a culture of innovation and learning.
- Contribute to regulatory submissions and assurance processes, ensuring engineering quality and compliance with industry and company standards.
- Support supplier engagement, contract administration (NEC), and risk management processes.
- Minimum of three years’ post‑graduate experience in multi‑disciplinary engineering projects (water industry experience desirable).
- Familiarity with NEC contracts, risk management principles, and project delivery principles.
- Strong communication and leadership skills.
- Degree in Engineering or Construction (or equivalent experience).
- Working towards professional registration (IEng or CEng) is desirable, with support available to achieve it.
- A proactive, positive attitude and genuine interest in sustainable water infrastructure.
