About AUG Signals: AUG Signals was established in 1986 and is a research-oriented company focused on the development of advanced Signal, Image and Data Processing (SIDP) algorithms. The company is at the forefront of research and development in several areas including image registration, target detection and recognition, target tracking, and multi-sensor fusion. The company provides services in data collection, processing, analysis and delivery, working with data from satellites, airborne, and ground sensors.
These technologies are applied to a variety of fields, including: defence and security, transportation, resource exploration, precision agriculture, and environmental monitoring. AUG Signals also develops products for environmental monitoring and Intelligent Transportation Systems.
About the position: Remote Sensing and SAR image Processing Engineer will be involved in leading edge research and development of satellite image processing algorithms for various applications, with a focus on processing Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) (PolSAR and InSAR) and/or electro-optical (EO) imagery. Responsibilities of the selected candidate will be algorithm development, implementation and testing. Solid communication skills are required for presenting technology to clients.
This position is available either as full-time permanent or as a contract position subject to qualifications.
Requirements:
Master’s degree or above in either Remote Sensing Engineering, Geomatics Engineering or any related fields2+ years working experience with SAR image processingIn-depth knowledge and understanding of Satellite Image processing techniques for both SAR and Electro-optical Satellite Imagery.Hands-on experience in designing algorithm procedure to obtain, prepare, process and information extraction from SAR dataIn-depth knowledge of PolSAR processing and had solid experience in extracting Polarimetric features from raw SAR images.Solid and up-to-date knowledge about fundamental image processing techniques and concepts to be used for satellite image processingProgramming experience using MATLAB, and Python (C#, ENVI/IDL would also be beneficial)Experience using GDAL, OpenCV or similar image processing librariesKnowledge about GIS concepts and software like Arc-GIS and QGISProven verbal communication and technical writing skillsAbility to work well independently and as part of a teamAdditional Skills and requirements:
Knowledge of InSAR and experience in GAMMA software will be an assetExperience in Machine Learning or Deep Learning image analysis is a plusExperience in project management is a plusApplication Remarks:
