Project Design Engineer

CK Group are recruiting for a Project Design Engineer to join a multinational multi-industry company on a contract basis initially till the end of March 2026 with a high likelihood of further extension.

Salary :

515 - 537.50 per day (Inside IR35)

To main purpose of this contract will be to provide technical expertise in the design and installation of Substation Layouts for 400kV to 11kV substation projects.

• To develop technical specifications and material schedules for primary equipment
• To provide substation layouts and associated detail diagrams in accordance with established UK standards
• To check and approve project documentation
• To produce engineering time estimates and support monthly forecasts to complete.
• To input into design and hazard review meetings

• HNC / HND in related engineering field
• Knowledge of Transmission or Distribution practices (400kV to 11 kV)
• Knowledge of various relevant industry standards including National Grid / SSE / SPEN / DNO requirement

Our client is a multinational company in a range of industries including renewable energy.

The role is hybrid primarily home-based with occasional meetings at the Birmingham office.
