Job Summary:
The NX SME Lead is responsible for leading and coordinating the NX Subject Matter Expert team, ensuring their work is consistent, high quality, and aligned with the wider transformation roadmap. The role acts as the point of coordination between the SME team, Solution Architects, Business Representatives, and the NX Competency Lead, ensuring standards, methods, and guidance produced by the SMEs are usable, aligned, and ready for adoption across the organisation.
The best practice and guidance from this team will be managed through this lead role to ensure a consistent experience and ensure its readiness for use in the development of capability for the wider Engineering teams. This position requires strong leadership, communication, and delivery management skills, with the ability to bring together technical and non-technical stakeholders to drive clear, consistent CAD standards and processes.
Key Responsibilities:
-Team Leadership & Coordination
-Lead and manage the NX SME team, ensuring consistent standards, priorities, and delivery.
-Provide guidance, support, and direction to maintain quality and technical coherence in conjunction with the Solution Architects.
-Alignment with Architecture & Business Requirements
-Collaborate with Business Representatives to confirm CAD standards and methods support downstream processes.
-Ensure all SME work supports the programmes digital engineering and PLM objectives.
-Consolidate and manage all SME deliverables, including standards, modelling methods, templates, and documentation.
-Ensure deliverables meet required quality levels and comply with company and applicable industry standards.
-Identify and manage issues, risks, and dependencies, escalating to leadership as needed.
-Collaborate with the NX Competency Lead to ensure SME outputs contribute to training materials, guidance, and capability development.
-Support the development of a consistent, long-term NX competency across the organisation.
-Act as the key point of contact for all NX SME matters.
-Lead workshops, reviews, and cross-functional discussions.
-Communicate progress, decisions, risks, and impacts clearly to programme and technical leadership. Qualifications &
Experience:
-Strong expertise in Siemens NX within a complex engineering environment.
-Good understanding of CAD standards, parametric modelling, assemblies, and drafting principles.
-Experience leading or coordinating technical teams.
- Experience with Siemens Teamcenter.
-Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
-Experience working in or supporting large-scale CAD or PLM transformation initiatives. Preferred
Skills:
-Technical knowledge of Siemens Capital.
-Industry background in complex product design and manufacturing.
-Knowledge of enterprise upgrades within PLM tools.
-Knowledge of the Siemens Capital Software.
-Familiarity with relevant CAD and engineering standards.
Working Conditions:
-Remote working on client laptop/equipment.
-Onsite client office days typically 2 day a fortnight.
-Onsite workshops typically conducted on client site and occasionally at software Vendor locations.
-Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week.
