Shift: Monday to Friday Looking for a senior engineering role where you genuinely own projects from concept to commissioning? This is a high-autonomy Senior Project Engineer opportunity with a specialist industrial engineering group delivering complex capital projects across the UK. The role sits at the heart of technically challenging work within live operational environments, combining hands-on engineering expertise with real project ownership.

Working closely with a Project Manager based overseas, youll act as the technical authority on defined projects and packages trusted to make decisions, lead technical delivery, and work directly with sites, suppliers, and contractors. Projects typically range from £500k to £10m and focus on heavy industrial processing environments, including bulk handling, conveyors, screening systems, and metal separation technology. What Youll Be Doing Taking end-to-end responsibility for the technical delivery of capital engineering projects Assessing existing plant, conveyors, structures, and processing equipment on live sites Developing practical engineering solutions for both retrofit and new-build installations Scoping, specifying, and selecting new equipment and system upgrades Producing and reviewing layouts, technical specifications, and design documentation Acting as the senior technical authority during installation, commissioning, and handover Coordinating closely with contractors, suppliers, and operational site teams Identifying and managing technical risks, changes, and improvement opportunities Supporting the Project Manager with clear technical reporting and input

What Were Looking For Proven experience as a Senior Project Engineer or Project Engineer within heavy industry Strong background in bulk handling, recycling, materials processing, mining, aggregates, or similar environments Hands-on experience with conveyor systems, mechanical process equipment, and structural steelwork Experience delivering both greenfield and brownfield projects in live operational settings Confident operating independently with minimal supervision Degree-level qualification in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent experience Commercially aware, technically decisive, and comfortable owning outcomes Whats on Offer Salary: £70,000 £ 80,000 Company car All UK travel and overnight stays fully expensed 24 days annual leave Private healthcare Death in service benefit Discretionary annual bonus linked to business and individual performance
