About the roleBe part of this "once in a generation" project that will deliver clean energy to 6 million homes for the next 60 years. Sizewell C will see the creation of a 3.2 Gigawatt nuclear power station on the Suffolk coast to provide reliable load low‑carbon electricity.
The Civil Works Alliance is an extended delivery enterprise involving Sizewell C and three international construction companies:
Balfour Beatty, Bouygues Travaux Publics and Laing O'Rourke. We are more than just an alliance, we are bringing together a single delivery organisation with years of learning and experience from other major complex infrastructure programmes worldwide.
The purpose of the role is to manage all AIL bookings for the CWA and ensure that all AIL protocols are in accordance with the project requirements. This role is based out of the OLP but will require frequent visits to site.
- Ensure DMS bookings are accurate ensuring that all details are captured correctly to ensuring effective end to end AIL movements
- Work closely with Hauliers ensuring requirements are communicated and requisite timings/ permissions/permits and are in place with requisite authorities
- Liaise with Suffolk Constabulary Ab Load Officer where required
- Laise with the SZC DMS and AIL Planning Manager and wider Freight Management Team
- Liaise with Site Ops to ensure AIL movements transit through site as planned
- Liaise with G4S in respect of access control ensuring there are no delays in respect of passenger's/ escorts access
- Ensure AIL internal escorts are in place as required to mitigate delays at point of entry
- Be the point of contact to the freight management team, Site Ops and G4s for enquiries and issues
- Identify future requirements from the site delivery teams and produce a forecast or activity and detailed schedule.
- Monitor planned and ongoing road works that may impact routing of any AIL and provide recommendations to ensure routing is unhindered.
- Conduct swept path analysis for all deliveries.
Essential:
- Prior experience in this field is necessary.
- Understanding of swept path analysis.
- Good communicator and capable of taking ownership of tasks and communicating outcomes.
- Able to work on own initiative and seek out opportunities in line with level of responsibility
- Holds a current driving licence and CSCS Card
- Must be a good team player, with strong communication and interpersonal skills
Desired:
- Understanding of NPCC Abnormal Load Guidance 2025
- Awareness of ALG Guidelines for Operators - Abnormal loads
