The role is a key enabler for the PWS business, translating strategic vision into a concrete technology and experience roadmap.
Key Responsibilities- Technology Strategy & Road mapping:
Initiate and lead cross‑functional discussions with Engineering and Product Managers to define the innovation pipeline, explore technical solutions, and build the strategic technology roadmap (scoping, planning, and budgeting). - Strategic Partnership & Influence:
Craft and lead the strategic innovation direction in collaboration with key internal and external partners (platform partners, technology suppliers), leveraging their expertise to co‑create and de‑risk the future product and technology pipeline. - Technical Translation:
Transform the innovation roadmap into concrete deliverables, specifically technology and experience building blocks and detailed project briefs for engineering execution. - Program Leadership:
Lead cross‑functional engineering teams to develop and validate new technical concepts, overseeing the successful management of the building blocks through to full development in NPI and implementation in Mass Production (MP) using project management best practices. This includes collaborating on project scope and plan, establishing key project metrics and documentation, leading multi‑site project teams, and ensuring robust stakeholder, risk, and process management. - Technical Alignment:
Facilitate internal alignment and support external technical partnerships with key platform partners and technology suppliers, ensuring alignment with PWS strategic vision and de‑risking the NPI roadmap. - Organizational Alignment & Synthesis:
Build strong technical bridges across R&D partners to drive consensus on critical technology choices, synthesize complex technical architectures simply, and provide executive‑ready updates.
- Technology Program Management: 8+ years of experience defining and driving technology roadmaps or leading R&D projects from concept to delivery in high‑volume consumer electronics. Strong knowledge of Project Management Standards & Methodology.
- Domain Fluency (Hardware & Ecosystem):
Deep technical understanding of PWS‑relevant technologies (e.g., advanced sensor tech, wireless protocols, low‑power design, Edge AI/ML deployment, OS‑level integration). - Technical Acumen & Analytical Thinking:
Strong technical skills, systems thinking, and a creative mindset. Independent, critical thinking, strong analytical problem‑solving skills, and knowledge of Design Thinking. - Global Communication & Synthesis:
Outstanding verbal and written communication skills in English. Proven ability to translate complex technical architectures for non‑technical stakeholders. - Visionary Influence & Ownership: A hands‑on, results‑driven approach with a high sense of ownership and the ability to inspire and influence technical direction with senior leadership without direct reporting authority.
- Mobility:
Ability to travel domestically and intercontinentally based on project events.
- Required:
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field). - Preferred:
Master’s degree (especially in AI, ML, or Robotics) or an MBA. PMP, Innovation Management, or Design certifications are a plus.
