What You’ll Be Doing

In this role, you’ll work on a broad range of civil and structural engineering projects across the full lifecycle — from feasibility and concept design to detailed design, construction support, and delivery.

You’ll collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop safe, innovative, and sustainable engineering solutions that meet our clients’ needs and align with industry best practices.

Key responsibilities include:

Supporting the analysis, design, and preparation of civil and structural engineering deliverables for nuclear, renewable, and energy-related projects
Contributing to all phases of projects — from early bids and feasibility studies through to detailed design and construction
Preparing technical documentation such as Basis of Design reports, calculations, specifications, safety documentation, and design substantiation reports
Conducting finite element modelling and structural analysis using modern tools and verification processes
Participating in site visits, inspections, and design reviews, ensuring constructability and compliance
Engaging with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to understand needs, resolve challenges, and deliver exceptional results
Promoting a safety-first culture and ensuring adherence to health, safety, and environmental standards
Contributing to continuous improvement and innovation, helping us deliver smarter, more efficient engineering solutions
About You

We’re looking for someone who’s motivated, technically strong, and enjoys working collaboratively to solve complex problems. You’ll be a proactive communicator who can build trusted relationships and bring ideas to life.

Essential skills and experience:

Degree-qualified in Civil Engineering or a related discipline (BEng, MEng, BSc, MSc)
Working towards or already holding Chartered or Incorporated Engineer status (we’ll support you every step of the way)
Solid understanding of civil and structural design principles, methods, and relevant codes and standards (e.g. ACI, ASCE, AISC)
Experience using finite element analysis software and related tools for design validation and verification
Good awareness of health and safety legislation, risk assessment, and design safety principles
Experience working within a multi-disciplinary project environment
Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
A commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous learning
Desirable:

Experience with in the nuclear, energy, or other highly regulated industries
Familiarity with UK Nuclear Licensing and the Generic Design Assessment process
Understanding of BIM environments and digital design workflows
