Youll contribute to and help implement our clients Sustainability Strategy, Assurance Programme and Environmental Management Systems, ensuring they are always acting responsibly, and ambitiously. This is a hybrid role with your time split between visiting our clients core sites (Milton Keynes, Cambridgeshire, North Yorkshire & the Isle of Wight) and home working Duties:
Supporting the implementation of our clients Environmental and Sustainability Strategy in line with their business objectives and customer expectations. Acting as a subject matter expert for environmental compliance and best practice. Advising and supporting operational leaders with environmental risk management, improvement plans, training, and mobilisation activities. Staying ahead of legislation, industry standards, and innovations and translating them into operational insight.
Assisting with external reporting and audits for our shareholders, regulators, and clients. Conducting and supporting incident investigations and root cause analysis, ensuring effective corrective action. Providing tailored environmental training to internal teams. Supporting bids and business development activities with environmental insight and compliance planning. Undertaking audits and reviews to ensure conformance with regulatory and corporate standards.
The Person :
Chartered status with a recognised environmental institution (e.g. IEMA, CIWM, Environmental Society, IWEM), or working towards it within 12 months. Degree-qualified in a relevant subject. Strong influencing, communication, and stakeholder management skills. A collaborative, inquisitive, and solutions-focused mindset. Ability to think commercially and apply regulatory insight to business operations. Experience in delivering training and clear, impactful reporting. Resilience, drive, and a proactive approach to change and improvement.
Experience:
Significant experience in environmental compliance and sustainability, ideally in a complex, operational environment (e.g. waste, utilities, construction). Proven ability to develop and embed compliance frameworks and best practice. Experience supporting mobilisation, bid activity, or complex project work would be an advantage.
Working hours:
