An exciting start organisation are seeking an experienced Senior Thermal & Energy Systems Engineer to join their engineering department. Salary £60,000 to £75,000 plus Benefits

What You Will Do:

- Own system-level thermal and energy balance, identifying and mitigating dominant heat generation, transport, and loss mechanisms.

- Lead thermofluid and thermal design decisions for early-stage energy hardware, working with evolving scientific inputs.

- Develop pragmatic thermofluid and thermal models to guide architecture, sizing, and trade-offs.

- Design, build, instrument, and test prototypes and experimental rigs to validate assumptions and reduce technical risks.

- Drive rapid design-build-test-learn iteration cycles, incorporating experimental feedback into hardware revisions.

- Collaborate with scientists and engineers to translate scientific insights into actionable designs.

What You Will Bring:

- Proven experience in owning the thermal or thermofluid performance of hardware systems, with accountability for outcomes.

- Strong fundamentals in thermodynamics, heat transfer, and fluid mechanics, applied to real-world systems.

- Hands-on experience with CAD tools and designing, building, and testing hardware systems.

- Ability to make confident design decisions under uncertainty and adapt based on test results.

- Clear communication skills and the ability to work effectively in fast-paced, collaborative teams.
