Job Description & How to Apply Below
Our client, a leading manufacturer in the consumer electronics sector, is seeking a talented Industrial Process Optimization Engineer to join their remote team. This role is designed to drive significant improvements in production efficiency, quality, and cost-effectiveness through the analysis and refinement of manufacturing processes. The successful candidate will leverage advanced industrial engineering techniques to identify bottlenecks, streamline workflows, and implement innovative solutions.
While the role is fully remote, it requires close collaboration with on-site production teams and management to achieve operational excellence. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced engineer to make a substantial impact on manufacturing performance from a remote location.
- Analyze existing manufacturing processes to identify inefficiencies, waste, and opportunities for optimization.
- Develop and implement data-driven strategies to improve production throughput, reduce cycle times, and enhance product quality.
- Utilize lean manufacturing principles and tools (e.g., VSM, 5S, Kaizen) to streamline operations.
- Design and recommend modifications to production layouts, equipment, and workflows.
- Collaborate virtually with on-site production, engineering, and quality assurance teams to ensure effective implementation of improvements.
- Develop and maintain standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process documentation.
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and report on the impact of optimization initiatives.
- Conduct root cause analysis for production issues and implement corrective actions.
- Research and propose new technologies and methodologies to enhance process efficiency.
- Ensure all proposed and implemented processes adhere to safety and regulatory standards.
- Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering or a closely related field.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience in industrial engineering, with a strong focus on process optimization and manufacturing environments.
- Proven experience in applying lean manufacturing techniques and tools for process improvement.
- Proficiency in data analysis and statistical software (e.g., Excel, Minitab).
- Understanding of manufacturing systems, production planning, and quality control principles.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, essential for effective remote collaboration.
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks effectively in a remote setting.
- Experience in the consumer electronics sector is advantageous.
- This is a remote position, requiring reliable internet connectivity and the ability to work effectively from home.
Our client offers a competitive salary and the convenience of a fully remote work arrangement, promoting work-life balance. The benefits package includes medical aid, a retirement fund, and potential for performance-based bonuses. Opportunities for professional growth and skill development through online training and virtual workshops are provided. Employees receive standard paid time off. This role offers the flexibility to contribute to significant manufacturing improvements for operations near Soweto , without the need for daily commuting.
