Junior Electrical Engineer - Power Distribution

The position is based in Benoni, Gauteng
, with a hybrid work arrangement that allows for a blend of office‑based tasks and remote work. This role is crucial for supporting the ongoing development and upgrade of our electrical infrastructure in the region.

• Assist in the design and planning of electrical distribution networks, including overhead lines and substations.
• Support the maintenance and operational teams by providing technical assistance.
• Conduct site inspections and surveys of electrical infrastructure.
• Analyze load data and assist in load forecasting for network planning.
• Prepare technical reports, drawings, and documentation under supervision.
• Participate in the investigation of network faults and outages.
• Ensure compliance with relevant safety standards and company procedures.
• Learn and apply principles of power system protection and control.
• Collaborate with other departments and stakeholders on distribution projects.
• Assist in the evaluation and selection of electrical equipment for distribution networks.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 0-3 years of experience in electrical engineering, with a focus on power systems or distribution.
• Good understanding of electrical principles, particularly related to power distribution.
• Familiarity with electrical design software and tools is a plus.
• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Eagerness to learn and develop professionally within the power utility sector.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a hybrid environment.
• Must be based in or willing to relocate to Benoni, Gauteng area.
• Eligible for ECSA registration as a Candidate Engineer.
