Sales & Service Engineer - Power​/Pulp & Paper

My client, a multi-billion global OEM is seeking a Sales & Service Engineer for their Material Handling Division. This position will spend time in the field working with customers in plants and mills discovering and discussing plant issues and working towards additional sales. The service piece is more inspections, walkdowns, etc than it is hands-on.

Experience in Power Generation, Heavy Industrial, or Pulp & Paper working around Material Handling, Air Handling, Boilers, Air Pollution Controls, Fans, Blowers, HRSG's.

This is a remote position with travel. Travel will be up to 50% as short trips and you will be home on weekends.

Central, East Coast , South East, Ohio Valley regions are preferred.

This position is a contributor that works with cross-functional teams to directly service our customers with technical expertise on the vast products and services provides. The role will be multifaceted which includes direct customer on-site evaluation, system process development, and equipment design. The position will be responsible for developing large to small project opportunities and growing the valuable aftermarket parts business.

Additional duties comprise of working closely with the current teams and providing technical consultation in a solution-oriented way while driving an increased level of business across the organization.

• Development of new business opportunities in the markets while working with internal Sales and Field Evaluation personnel.
• Evaluate proposal opportunities and develop engineered systems and equipment solutions based on customer supplied data and specifications and work with internal Proposal Managers to develop quotes based on those evaluations.
• Perform preliminary equipment sizing calculations, piping and equipment layouts, and prepare process and flow diagrams for use in proposal development.
• Work with both Product Development and outside suppliers to design unique engineered solutions for new opportunities.
• Travel will be expected 50% of the time at a minimum with the remaining time spent performing follow-up work based on the travel performed. Home on weekends.
• Prepare technical reports including service and special reports for every site evaluation.
• Work with Aftermarket staff, business development, and sales teams to coordinate site visits and potential business development opportunities.
• Perform all other duties as assigned.

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or technology, or associated experience in lieu of a degree.
• 5+ years' related experience
• Technical background in power generation, pulp & paper and/or heavy industrial mechanical
• Demonstrated organization, communication, and presentation skills.
• Proven customer service on-site track record and ability to work in high pressure situations.
• Willingness to commit the level of work required to meet deadlines as needed.
