Project Manager - Industrial Facilities

Our client, a major industrial developer, is seeking a skilled Project Manager to oversee the development and expansion of industrial facilities in the Richards Bay, Kwa Zulu-Natal region. This role involves managing all aspects of capital projects, from feasibility studies and design through to construction and commissioning. You will be responsible for ensuring projects meet operational, financial, and timeline objectives while adhering to stringent safety and environmental standards.

As this position is fully remote, you will leverage advanced communication and project management tools to coordinate effectively with on-site teams, engineering partners, and stakeholders across various locations. The successful candidate will possess a strong background in industrial project management, excellent leadership capabilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. • Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of industrial facility projects.
• Develop detailed project scopes, budgets, schedules, and resource plans.
• Manage project risks, issues, and changes throughout the project lifecycle.
• Coordinate with engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractors.
• Ensure projects comply with all relevant regulations, safety protocols, and environmental standards.
• Monitor project performance and provide regular progress reports to senior management.

• Manage project stakeholders, ensuring alignment and managing expectations.
• Oversee the commissioning and handover process of completed facilities.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, specifically within industrial or manufacturing facility development.
• Demonstrated ability to manage projects from conception to completion, including multimillion-rand budgets.
• Strong understanding of engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) processes.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills.
• Proficiency with project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
• Experience working in a fully remote capacity, demonstrating self-discipline and effective virtual collaboration.
• Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical) or a related field.
• Knowledge of safety and environmental regulations pertinent to industrial operations.
• Ability to travel occasionally for site visits as required.
