The ONE Group is delighted to be partnering with a well‑established SME business based in Peterborough, as they look to appoint an experienced Financial Controller to lead and oversee the company’s financial operations.

This is a key senior role within the business, requiring a hands‑on, commercially minded accountant who is comfortable operating in a broad and varied environment.

The successful candidate will be CIMA or ACCA qualified, with proven people management experience, and a strong track record of working within a small to medium‑size business. You will be used to taking ownership of the finance function, operating at both strategic and operational levels, and supporting the wider leadership team with clear financial insight.

• Lead and manage the day‑to‑day finance function
• Produce monthly management accounts, budgets and forecasts
• Manage cash flow, working capital and financial controls
• Provide commercial insight and support to the senior leadership team
• Oversee statutory reporting, VAT, payroll and year‑end processes
• Liaise with auditors, advisors and external stakeholders
• Lead and develop a small finance team
• Drive process, systems and reporting improvements

The role offers flexible working, with the opportunity to work from home one to two days per week, alongside a salary of up to £80,000 per annum dependent on experience.
