Join us in making a positive impact on the environment and our communities while being valued and supported in a truly inclusive workplace.

We’re recruiting for a Financial Planning Systems Specialist to join our Finance team based at our Coventry city centre head office. You will be responsible for maintaining the company’s financial management platform that integrates various financial processes into a single system. The role reports to our Finance Systems and Controls Manager and will ensure the smooth operation across budgeting, forecasting, month‑end, and year‑end processes, as well as collaborating with our Finance and Business Planning teams to deliver accurate and efficient financial reporting.

Our focal point is to ensure Tagetik becomes our primary reporting tool across Severn Trent, and you will play a significant role in this implementation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide Tagetik subject‑matter expertise to users across Finance teams, acting as the primary contact for all system‑related queries and resolving issues as they arise.
  • Design, configure and implement Tagetik solutions in line with requirements, including modules such as financial consolidation, planning, budgeting, and scripting bespoke reports as required.
  • Protect Tagetik to ensure month‑end and year‑end reporting deliverables are accurate and complete in line with user and regulatory requirements.
  • Own the system administration activities: managing the daily ETL’s (SAP financial and master data), user permissions, software licences and contract renewal requirements.
  • Play a key role in shaping and supporting the budget, forecasting and business plan processes, ensuring data entry forms, data workflows and outputs align to business requirements.
  • Lead a community of Tagetik super users, create and deliver training and knowledge articles to upskill users, and share knowledge across all Tagetik.
Capabilities
  • Exceptional technical skills (Excel, VBA, SQL)
  • Strong problem‑solving abilities
  • Collaborative approach; able to build effective relationships with stakeholders
  • Clear communicator, able to explain technical concepts in simple terms
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles
  • Skilled in planning, designing, and implementing process improvements
Experience
  • Tagetik modules: financial consolidation, planning, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Tagetik experience building new process workflows, data modelling and ETLs, calculation logics, AIH analytical work spaces and Tagetik scripting language (TQL).
  • Building workflows, data modelling, ETLs, calculation logic, AIH analytical work spaces, and TQL scripting in Tagetik.
  • Working collaboratively with stakeholders to achieve results.
  • Proactively identifying and resolving issues independently.
Benefits
  • 28 days holiday + bank holidays (and the ability to buy/sell up to 5 days per year).
  • Annual bonus scheme (up to £2,250 per annum based on company performance).
  • Leading pension scheme – we will double your contribution (up to 15% when you contribute 7.5%).
  • Sharesave – the chance to buy Severn Trent Plc shares at a discounted rate.
  • Dedicated training and development with our ‘Academy’.
  • Electric vehicle scheme and retail offers.
  • Family‑friendly policies.
  • Two volunteer days per year.
