Proactively supporting the business to minimise aged debt, while being involved also in credit reporting and various projects to support the development of the credit department. The position offers remote/office hybrid working (2 days on-site, 3 days remote) with a generous & competitive overall benefits package, along with future progression/development opportunities. Your new role Your key duties will involve processing new account applications, assessing creditworthiness, setting credit limits, setting payments terms & conducting in-depth assessments for complex/high value customers.
You will build/maintain strong relationships with customers to collect overdue payments, manage their payments options, along with resolving account/credit queries. You will reconcile customer accounts & allocate payments to reduce unallocated cash, understand overall credit risk on the ledgers, review credit limits, customers’ orders & accounts on hold. You will maintain up-to-date accounts notes, along with collaborating effectively with internal teams to support the resolution of credit queries.
You will support the Credit Manager with ad-hoc duties, credit reporting & deputise when needed. What you'll need to succeed To be considered for this permanent Senior Credit Controller role, you will need experience in a similar position, high numeracy, key problem-solving skills, with good MS Excel knowledge. You will have strong attention to detail and accuracy, an ability to work to tight deadlines & under pressure, along with commercial awareness.
You will have a proactive & positive mind-set, able to contribute to process improvement & credit risk strategies. You will have key communication skills to build both internal & external relationships at all levels, a team player who can also work using their own initiative. Willing to learn & adaptable to business needs. Strong knowledge of business-to-business trade credit, along with an engineering/manufacturing sector background would be advantageous but not essential.
What you'll get in return This permanent Senior Credit Controller role offers a salary between £30,000 - £33,000 per annum, dependable on experience, based in Cheltenham, Gloucestershire.
