A little more about your role…
WSP is looking for a Credit Controller to work hybrid from home and from our modern offices. You will proactively manage a portfolio of clients, using your influencing skills to remove roadblocks preventing clients from paying their invoices.
Key Responsibilities- Own and manage an overseas debt ledger, resolving simple to complex debts.
- Build productive relationships across all levels of the business.
- Drive cash flow to meet your own and stakeholder targets.
- Advocate the use of our Debt Collection Agency.
- Raise the profile of credit policies and Credit Management services.
- Ensure continuity of service when colleagues are on holiday.
You will become part of an energetic team, working together to support our engineers in collecting payments for the exciting projects they deliver. Your time will focus on contacting clients on the ledger you’re responsible for, ensuring invoices are received and objections are overcome. You will build relationships with key stakeholders across Finance and the operational business, and push debts to conclusion through joint calls or review calls.
You will become a key member of the wider business team and an expert in collecting cash in our industry.
- Credit Control / Accounts Receivable or other transactional accounting experience such as Accounts Payable, Treasury, Cash Application or Billing.
- Experience in a Professional Services environment (e.g., law firm, consultancy) or Engineering/Construction sector.
- Proficiency in English and French (spoken and written).
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, self‑direct your time, and meet deadlines.
- Great attention to detail and a commitment to delivering excellent service to customers.
You should be comfortable communicating with customers by telephone rather than email, and be able to write accurate, concise emails.
Studying for CICM (Chartered Institute of Credit Management) exams or another relevant qualification is desirable, and we encourage ongoing professional development.
