Can you sit with a finance team, understand how its accounting processes work and then configure an ERP platform around them?
We're partnering with an established ERP software provider that is expanding its North American consulting team. The company's platform supports customers across the lumber and building-materials sector, and they are looking for someone who can lead the financial side of new ERP implementations.
This is not an accounting position with occasional systems work. It is a customer-facing consulting role where your financial knowledge will influence how the ERP is configured, adopted and used.
The role- Lead discovery and process-mapping workshops with customer finance teams
- Understand existing accounting processes and identify opportunities for improvement
- Help customers structure their general ledger and chart of accounts
- Configure accounts payable, accounts receivable and financial reporting
- Advise customers on accounting standards, tax requirements and internal controls
- Support financial data migration and balance reconciliation
- Define requirements for system changes and external integrations
- Test and document financial configurations and software changes
- Train customer finance teams and provide knowledge transfer
- Prepare customers for go-live and support them afterwards
- Work closely with Project Managers, technical consultants and developers
- Help customers adopt consistent and effective financial processes
You'll understand both accounting processes and how those processes should operate within an ERP system. You should be comfortable leading customer conversations while also taking responsibility for the configuration and delivery of the financial solution.
You'll bring:- Customer-facing ERP finance or financial-systems implementation experience
- Strong knowledge of general ledger and chart-of-accounts structures
- Practical experience across accounts payable and accounts receivable
- Knowledge of financial reporting, accounting controls and period-end processes
- Experience gathering requirements and mapping customer finance processes
- Experience supporting financial data migration and reconciliation
- An understanding of GAAP, tax requirements and internal controls
- Confidence training finance users and supporting go-live
- Strong analytical, communication and stakeholder-management skills
- The ability to manage several customer projects or work streams concurrently
Experience gained with an ERP software provider would be particularly relevant. Candidates from platforms such as Epicor, ECI, Kerridge or another comparable ERP vendor may be considered.
Experience with in the LBM industry would be beneficial but is not essential. Strong ERP finance consulting experience within another industry could also transfer well.
A CPA or similar financial qualification would be advantageous but is not required.
What's on offer- Fully remote working within the United States
- Comprehensive health and retirement benefits
- Generous paid time off
- Wellness support
- A flexible working environment
- The opportunity to become a key finance specialist within a growing ERP team
Some customer travel and occasional flexibility around implementation milestones will be required.
Applicants must already have full authorization to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
