Our client is launching an exciting new laboratory and diagnostics business, operating on a similar model to established industry leaders such as Lancet and Path Care.
This is a rare opportunity to join at foundation stage and become the clinical lead responsible for reviewing, authorising, and signing off pathology results across multiple regions.
We are seeking a registered, practising Pathologist (HPCSA) with a strong ethical foundation, passion for diagnostics, and a willingness to contribute to the growth of a new, modern pathology environment.
This role is ideal for both experienced practising pathologists and retired specialists seeking a less stressful, remote‑based role while still contributing to the profession.
Key Responsibilities- Review, interpret, verify, and sign off laboratory results remotely.

- Maintain exceptional diagnostic quality across all sample types received from multiple regions.
- Collaborate with technical teams and provide guidance when required.

- Contribute to shaping clinical protocols for a new laboratory start‑up.
- Registered Pathologist with HPCSA (Practising / Active Registration) – non‑negotiable.
- Relevant postgraduate qualification (MMed / FCPath).
- Experience in a recognised laboratory environment (Lancet, Path Care, NHLS, or similar).
- Comfortable working remotely with digital pathology / reporting systems.
- Strong diagnostic accuracy and attention to detail.

- Vibrant, positive personality – passionate about contributing to a pioneering new laboratory.
- Looking for a remote, flexible yet meaningful specialist role.
- Looking to step away from the intense pressure of full‑time hospital or lab work.
- Newly qualified (minimum ±2 years technical exposure) OR recently retired.
- Interested in supporting the growth of a new, modern, tech‑enabled laboratory.
- Highly competitive salary.
- Remote working structure with digital workflow.
- Opportunity to shape clinical processes in a start‑up laboratory environment.
- Long‑term growth and partnership potential.
- Supportive, progressive, and dynamic team culture.
