Job description
Specialist Occupational Therapist – Community Services
A community-based therapy service located in Northamptonshire is looking to recruit an experienced Specialist Occupational Therapist to join a well structured Community Occupational Therapy team.
The client offers hybrid working, a manageable caseload, and opportunities for professional development. This role is ideal for candidates seeking impact-driven work in community services while leading on specialist occupational therapy practice.
Working Pattern:
Hybrid – generally 2 days in the office and 3 days working from home per week.
Main Duties:
Experience required working with adults in community-based settings
Completing highly skilled and specialised occupational therapy assessments
Implementing safe interventions to promote independence and minimise the risk of hospitalisation and residential care
Reviewing care packages and recommending appropriate equipment and adaptations
Assessing individuals and carers with complex needs in the home environment
Undertaking moving and handling and manual handling assessments
Leading and specialising in one or more occupational therapy disciplines, including community OT, dementia, reablement, and manual handling
Working in line with safeguarding procedures, promoting dignity, choice, and independence
Assisting with the management and development of Community Occupational Therapy services
Supporting the growth of a high-quality, community-based therapy service while maintaining professional standards
Requirements:
Minimum 2 years post-qualified experience
Previous experience as a community-based Occupational Therapist
Specialist knowledge in manual handling and complex assessments
HCPC Registration
Enhanced DBS/CRB (we can assist)
Eligibility to work in the UK
Must have own vehicle and full UK driving licence Benefit
Hybrid working – mix of office and home working
Competitive hourly rate (£39 per hour)
