These role can be based in either our London (E20 1JQ
) or Manchester (M1 3BN
) offices.

Main duties of the jobWorking collaboratively within a small multidisciplinary team, you will develop original economic models and analyses to address key health and social care questions, including undertake analyses of real‑world data sources. You will also systematically review published economic evidence. You will present your work to decision‑making committees to help them develop guidance and respond to feedback received from public consultation.
The post holder will be responsible for:
- Undertake systematic reviews to identify, appraise and summarise published economic analyses for presentation to guideline committees and inclusion in guideline documentation
- Undertake original economic modelling to support the development of guidelines
- Presenting modelling methods and results to committees and assisting in their consideration of the evidence
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships and engagement with committee members, and stakeholders where necessary
- Present highly complex and sometimes conflicting or contentious information with clarity and sensitivity to non‑specialists, including people with the medical condition in question
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships and engagement with other staff across the Institute
- Organise and plan personal workload given multiple guidelines at different stages of development, and highlight risk to timescale delivery and its impact on projects within the Programme and the Centre
The Science Evidence and Analytics (SEA) Directorate is responsible for ensuring that NICE uses the best available evidence in its guidance to support decision makers across health and care. Through its different teams, the Directorate's remit is to support the whole organisation.
The Health Economics and Decision Modelling team provides input throughout the development of a guideline, including scoping, conducting evidence reviews, data analysis, developing economic models and validation, as well as supporting NICE's surveillance and prioritisation functions. The team also foster further development of methods in areas identified as priorities such as evidence synthesis, data analytics, model validation and grading the quality of evidence.
