B7 Adult Psychotherapist - part time 3 days NHS AfC:
Band 7

We are looking for applicants who are interested in taking up a Band 7 adult psychotherapy post in our friendly and welcoming psychotherapy services in Surrey. The vacancy is in our Psychotherapy Service based at Leatherhead, Surrey.

You will be expected to have experience working with people who have severe and enduring mental health presentations and in offering assessment as well as individual and group psychotherapy. Experience in delivering MBT is desirable but training is available as part of career development.

Alongside MBT we offer excellent opportunities for you to develop your skills clinically and to train in CAT.

Interviews will be held on Wednesday 18th February 2026 at the SABP Headoffice, 18 Mole Business Park, Leatherhead.

• To undertake psychotherapeutic consultations and provide individual psycho‑dynamic psychotherapy.
• To liaise with professionals, carers and relatives as required regarding referrals of patients to the service.
• Maintain up‑to‑date risk assessments on patients directly involved in your care.
• Involve patients in their personal care plans, taking their individual needs and preferences into account.
• Conduct both group analytic and mentalisation‑based treatments following appropriate training and with ongoing supervision.
• Help advise other professionals and trainees engaged in mental health work about the role and suitability of psychoanalytically informed interventions.

• In‑depth understanding and training in the delivery of individual psychoanalytic therapy is mandatory.
• In‑depth knowledge and experience of conducting psychotherapy consultations for individual therapy.

• UKCP accreditation with the Council for Psychoanalysis and Jungian Analysis College or BPC accreditation in psychoanalytic psychotherapy or other substantive recognised psychoanalytic psychotherapy training considered.
