Main duties of the jobAs a Primary Care Pharmacy Technician you will confidently act within professional standards and boundaries, supporting and working alongside your General Practice team as well as Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians within TPN.You will help resolve medication-related queries, work as part of a multidisciplinary team, improve patient outcomes and support the improvement of access to healthcare.

We are delighted to be able to offer an excellent opportunity for a Onsite Pharmacy Technician to join a practice within Chipping Norton. Due to continued company growth and our developing partnerships with numerous Primary Care Networks (PCNs) across the UK, we are seeking a motivated and dedicated Registered Pharmacy Technician to help deliver outstanding care and support within general practice settings.
The successful candidate will adhere to all relevant safety and clinical governance guidelines while continuously upholding the core values of a pharmacy technician profession and maintaining a strong focus on best practice
About the Role As a Pharmacy Technician, you will have successfully completed the CPPE pathway or currently be enrolled. In your day-to-day role, you will help ensure the smooth running of general practice by providing expert clinical support and advice to patients, promoting the safe and effective use of medicines, and consistently working within the competencies of your role, with active support from an experienced senior TPN team member and the wider Pharmacy Technician team.
This is an exciting opportunity to make a real impact within a supportive, professional multi-disciplinary environment while further developing your skills and contributing to the delivery of high-quality patient care. This is an evolving role with continuous scope for development as we expand our pharmacy technician team.
Job Duties:
- Medication Reconciliation of clinical letters and Hospital Discharge Summaries
- Medicine Management including prescription screening and processing
- Supporting with the ‘Repeat Dispending’ process
- Responding and communicating to patient related medication queries
- Coordinating with local pharmacies to manage stock levels and shortages
- Medication synchronisation in line with regular repeat prescription
- To oversee medication recall processes, ensuring timely responses and compliance. (e.g BP, blood tests, annual reviews)
- Doac Monitoring
- Prescribing audits in house, plus those associated with CQC/QOF or local incentive schemes as set by the Prescribing Team/ICB (training can be provided)
- Reviewing existing and new Shared Care Protocols and acting on them appropriately
- To action medicines safety alerts from CAS/MHRA/ICB
- To complete Level 1 and 2 Medication reviews (training can be given)
- Assisting with Pre-SMR (Structure Medication Review) Screening (training can be given)
- Create and run reports within the practice clinical systems to identify/stratify patients for review
