Main duties of the job

The Purchasing Team Leader is responsible for all Procurement Assistant's in the planning, organisation, management, and delivery of the purchasing service so that the department provides an efficient, effective, and responsive service maximising best value for money.

This role will also ensure that the procurement service complies with all relevant procurement legislation, Standing Financial (SFI's), Standing Orders (SO's), Scheme of Delegation (SoRD) and trust policies.

Person specification Experience
  • Previous experience working within a procurement environment.
  • Experience of working under pressure to strict deadlines and prioritising workload.
  • Experience of e-procurement systems, processes, and catalogue management
  • An understanding of legislation associated with competitive tendering and contract awards.
Qualifications
  • Educated to ‘A’ Level Standard
  • Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (CIPS) level 4 or currently studying or specialist expertise in procurement and contract management’.
  • Excellent organisational skills.
  • Demonstrable knowledge of Procurement and Customer Care.
  • Competent in data input spreadsheets (preferably Excel) and word processing (preferably Word).
  • Numerate
  • Excellent Interpersonal Skills
  • Excellent Organisational Skills
  • Problem Solving Skills
  • Highly Organised
