Senior Medical Coder – Clinical Laboratory & Specialty Services; Remote

Position: Senior Medical Coder – Clinical Laboratory & Specialty Services (Remote)
SRZ Consulting Services  is a healthcare-focused revenue cycle management and consulting firm specializing in clinical laboratory coding, compliance, and end-to-end billing support for providers, laboratories, and post-acute care organizations. We partner with our clients to improve accuracy, compliance, and revenue performance across complex healthcare service lines.
We are hiring an experienced  Senior Medical Coder  with  5+ years of expertise in independent clinical laboratory coding review , including  Molecular Panels , and specialty provider services. This role requires strong compliance knowledge and hands-on coding experience across laboratory and post-acute care environments.

Key Responsibilities
Perform independent coding review for  clinical laboratory and molecular testing , including:
Molecular Panels
Respiratory Pathogen Panels (RPP)
UTI testing
Pathology services
Wound care testing
Nail fungal and related diagnostic tests
Assign accurate  CPT, ICD-10-CM, and modifiers  in accordance with CMS and payer guidelines
Validate  medical necessity and documentation compliance
Code and review services for:
Skilled Nursing Facilities (SNF)
Chronic Care Management (CCM)
Remote Patient Monitoring (RPM)
Support denial resolution, audits, and payer appeals
Collaborate with billing, AR, and compliance teams
Stay current with CMS updates and payer-specific policies

Required Qualifications
5+ years of medical coding experience , with strong focus on  independent clinical laboratory and Molecular Panel coding
Demonstrated experience in  Molecular Panels, RPP, UTI, pathology, wound care, and fungal testing
Experience coding  short-term and long-term care services
Proficiency in coding services provided by:
Physical Medicine & Rehabilitation (PM&R)
Internal Medicine
Nurse Practitioners (NPs)
Physician Assistants (PAs)
Other mid-level providers
Strong knowledge of  Medicare, Medicaid, and commercial payers
High accuracy, attention to detail, and compliance orientation

Preferred Qualifications
CPC, CCS, or equivalent certification

Experience with audit defense and payer appeals
Background in multi-specialty or high-volume clinical lab environments
