Position:
Site Reliability Engineer (SRE)

As an SRE at Nexxiot, you will be part of an interdisciplinary agile team responsible for implementing highly available, scalable, compliant, and secure cloud infrastructure. Your work involves designing, testing, deploying, and maintaining cloud solutions in accordance with SRE practices, with a focus on pragmatic tool selection and continuous improvement.

Your main areas of accountability include:

Enabling Dev Ops teams to deliver secure, compliant, and resilient software quickly.

Collaborating with Product Owners and Software Architects.

Deploying infrastructure components across environments using continuous deployment practices.

Evaluating external services for infrastructure strategy.

Conducting architecture reviews and compliance activities.

Providing consultancy on macro and security architecture.

Managing Identity and Access Management (IAM) for cloud infrastructure.

Handling staff onboarding/offboarding in collaboration with IT.

Mentoring new team members as an onboarding buddy.

Participating in agile activities and on-call support to ensure system availability.

Developing and maintaining Kubernetes and Git Lab CI/CD platforms.

Managing persistent databases and storage solutions.

Developing disaster recovery procedures.

Implementing monitoring, VPN, and SIEM solutions.

Participating in security audits and reviews.

Desired qualifications:

Experience with infrastructure as code and reliable day-two operations.

Proficiency with tools like Pulumi, Terraform, AWS CDK, Cloud Formation, or Ansible.

Programming skills in Type Script, Rust, Go, or Python.

Linux/Unix shell expertise is a plus.

Knowledge of cloud infrastructure, especially AWS.

Experience with Git, CI/CD pipelines, Kubernetes, and containerized services.

Monitoring system experience like Grafana, Prometheus, Data Dog, or Cloud Watch.

Fluent in English;
German is a plus.
