impact can you make in this role?

You will be part of a team that is responsible for the independent assessment, measurement, monitoring, and reporting of GIC’s market, credit, and operational risk profiles.

What will you do as an Associate/AVP?
  • Monitor and report on the corporate-wide operational risk profile to senior management and GIC’s risk governance committees
  • Develop and maintain dashboards and data analytics capability to meet risk analysis and reporting needs
  • Develop and maintain operational risk analytics (e.g. Apply machine learning models on risk and control indicators to provide deeper insights or predictive capability over hotspot identification; mine operational risk data to identify insights over the operational risk health)
  • Understand, leverage and integrate existing business / risk and control systems, identify and execute opportunities to enable sentiment & trend analysis, risk & controls planning and predictive analytics
  • Work with operational risk managers and other business stakeholders to analyse and interpret large data sets, trends and results to create rigorous, data driven operational risk decisions
  • Implementing systems and tools to support enterprise operational risk management initiatives
  • Designing and implementing enterprise operational risk management policies and frameworks
  • Participate in thematic studies and strategic organisation projects
What qualifications or skills should you possess in this role?
  • At least 2 years’ experience in data analytics, business intelligence or a related field
  • Knowledge in a risk and controls field (e.g. operational risk, fraud, audit or financial crime analytics) is advantageous.
  • Working knowledge of data mining, analysis and visualisation techniques and tools (Tableau), and prior experience on application in the risks and controls field.
  • Working knowledge of programming languages including Python and SQL.
  • Intellectually curious and have the passion for using data and connecting the dots to generate strategic insights that translate into value and application for business stakeholders.
  • Adept at responding to queries and presenting findings in strong visuals, interesting and digestible ways.
  • Forward-thinking and interested in keeping up to date with developments and best practices in the risk & analytics industry.
  • Excellent interpersonal, communications and presentation skills with ability to work cross-functionally, across different business areas and seniority levels, and to synthesise detailed information
  • Strong organisational and project management skills
