We are looking to recruit a Senior Network Engineer for a leading technology consultancy. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working on complex network solutions, takes ownership of delivery, and wants to continue developing their skills across modern networking technologies.

This is primarily an office based role, with some home working flexibility, at my client's head office in Worcester.

The Role

You'll play a leading part in designing and delivering enterprise-level network solutions across a range of customer environments. The role includes planning and implementing LAN, WAN and wireless solutions, producing high-quality documentation, and ensuring that designs meet customer requirements and industry best practice.

You’ll also act as an escalation point for the service team, support proof‑of‑concept designs and contribute to technical discussions with customers and internal stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, implement and document network infrastructure including LAN, WAN, wireless and security
  • Configure and support routers, switches, firewalls, VPNs and associated technologies
  • Provide technical escalation and mentoring to junior engineers
  • Conduct network assessments and capacity planning
  • Troubleshoot complex issues and ensure minimal disruption
  • Work closely with internal teams and external suppliers to deliver successful projects
  • Occasional out‑of‑hours work and on‑call (typically every 6‑8 weeks)
Skills & Experience
  • CCNP level knowledge (or equivalent experience)
  • Strong routing and switching experience (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, QoS)
  • Hands‑on experience with firewalls and VPN technologies
  • Wireless experience (Catalyst and/or Meraki desirable)
  • Confident troubleshooting and analytical skills
  • Ability to communicate clearly with both technical and non‑technical audiences
  • Full UK driving licence

Experience with network monitoring tools (e.g. PRTG, Wireshark, Net Flow) and any exposure to automation or scripting (Python etc.) would be beneficial.
