Platform Engineer

Join  to apply for the Staff Platform Engineer role. We’re looking for senior engineers to help simplify complex marketplaces by building reliable, scalable solutions for millions of users.

Hybrid working – 2 days per week in our Cardiff office. We welcome candidates at senior level who can thrive in a fast‑paced, agile environment.

• Own platform architecture, design, and delivery across domains.
• Define and evolve team processes and technical strategy.
• Build efficient CI/CD pipelines and robust Dev Ops practices.
• Mentor and coach engineers, sharing knowledge across the organisation.
• Proactively identify opportunities for improvement and collaborate cross‑functionally.
• Manage time between team and organisational contributions.

• Experience in large and small agile engineering teams delivering consumer‑facing, highly available solutions.
• Strong background designing cost‑optimised cloud platforms (preferably Azure) following well‑architected frameworks.
• Solid understanding of SRE principles – observability, performance optimisation, analytics, security best practices.
• Experience implementing Service Level Objectives, error budgets, alerting.
• Deep knowledge of Kubernetes; operating containers at scale.
• Building fault‑tolerant systems and performance improvement.
• Incident and problem management practices.
• Proficiency across software development lifecycle: testing, version control, branching, deployments.
• Pragmatic delivery of solutions addressing business and consumer challenges.
• Experience building internal APIs or CLIs for self‑service.
• Commitment to personal development and autonomy.
