UX/UI Designer (Data Visualization & Dashboards) - Remote

fully remotely for a client in UAE
-Contract : 3 Months might be extendable
Responsibilities
Translate business objectives and user needs into dashboard UX flows, wireframes, and visual hierarchies.
Design pixel-perfect layouts and reusable components in Figma (Auto Layout, components/variants, design tokens).
Produce interactive Figma prototypes that demonstrate navigation, filtering, drill-through, tooltips, and state handling.
Define and govern an Analytics Design System: colour scales, typography, grid systems, chart usage guidelines aligned to brand.
Partner with data engineers and BI developers to ensure feasibility, performance, and accessibility of the implemented designs.
Conduct user research (interviews, usability testing, heuristic reviews) and synthesize insights to inform iterative design.
Embed accessibility best practices (WCAG 2.1 AA), including colour contrast, keyboard navigation, and alt text.
Support internationalization/localization in dashboards, including right-to-left considerations when applicable.
Create clear specifications and handoff artifacts (component libraries, redlines, interaction notes) for development.
Measure adoption and usability (usage analytics, task success) and drive continuous improvements based on data and feedback.
Maintain versioning and governance: change logs, release notes, stakeholder sign-offs for dashboard iterations.
Facilitate stakeholder workshops and design sprints; run demos and training to build data literacy and dashboard adoption.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Design/HCI, Information Visualization, or related field (or equivalent experience).
4–6+ years in UX/UI design with a focus on data visualization and dashboards.
Expertise in Figma (Auto Layout, components/variants, libraries, design tokens) and prototyping.
Strong grasp of visualization best practices (chart selection, preattentive attributes, information hierarchy).
Hands‑on experience collaborating with BI tools (Power BI, Tableau, Looker) and understanding their constraints.
Working knowledge of front‑end concepts (HTML/CSS) and design systems ficiency in user research methods and usability testing; ability to turn findings into design iterations.
Accessibility knowledge (WCAG 2.1 AA) and inclusive design across devices and locales.
Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder management skills.
Bonus: exposure to Power BI theme JSON, DAX basics, or custom visual constraints.
