STEM PhDs - Math

An opportunity for Mathematics PhDs to contribute to an advanced project with one of the world’s leading AI research labs.

This role offers competitive pay in the range of $65–$75 per hour, allowing you to apply your academic expertise to cutting-edge developments in artificial intelligence.

You will design and evaluate complex, real-world mathematical problems that challenge and inform the next generation of AI models — directly shaping how machines learn to reason and solve technical challenges.

Requirements

• Master’s or PhD in Mathematics from a leading university (preferably in the U.S. or similar academic ecosystem).
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-formulation abilities with high attention to detail.
• Excellent command of English.
• Currently based in the U.S., Canada, UK, New Zealand, or Australia.

• Collaborate asynchronously with a global team of experts to develop, solve, and review advanced mathematical problems.
• Create intellectually rigorous and practically relevant problem sets to support AI model development.
• Ensure accuracy, clarity, and creativity in all problem designs.
• Work independently, maintaining high standards of quality and precision.

• Commitment: 10–20 hours per week, with potential for extension and additional hours.
• Structure: Fully remote and asynchronous — work from anywhere.
• Start Date: Late September (applications reviewed on a rolling basis).

• Hourly Rate: $65–$75/hour.
• Classification: Independent contractor.
• Payments: Processed weekly via Stripe Connect.
